Today is a Good Day!

It's Friday. The sun is shining and there is only 6 hours of work standing between me and weekend freedom!

Yesterday we got some good news at work. As some of you know by reading (or by talking to me, as I am always excited to talk....about it...) that Robert Downey, Jr. is one of our clients. His assistant came in yesterday to drop off some paperwork and let my boss know that RDJ just got the role of Tony Stark aka Ironman! We were all very excited about this, but intended to keep it hush hush until it was officially announced by "the trades..."

Well, today the Hollywood Reporter broke the story, and there are articles on CNN, MTV.com and more stating this newest bit of information! The consensus is that this is the perfect choice for this lesser known superhero! We are so excited for him!!

The best part (for me) is that Ironman is scheduled to open on my birthday in 2008!

YAY RDJ!

Oh My! It's Been a Long Time!

Sorry for the lack of posts. Life has a way of sneaking up on me and making time pass far more quickly than I think it is. Having said that - How the hell is it already the END of September?!?!?

Things have been good, if not a little busy. I am acclimating to my new position at work, and all in all everything is great on that front. Once we get past October 15th, my bosses will have much more time to focus on expanding my job duties and training me on much more exciting things. I'm looking forward to it!

This weekend we are taking the new car on it's maiden voyage - at least as far as road trips are concerned. We are driving up to visit my parents in beautiful Los Altos Hills for the weekend. I am really looking forward to the trip, as I haven't seen my parents since April! And yesterday was my mama's birthday, so it will be nice to celebrate with my family!

Beyond the weekend, John and I are planning "Anniversary Week 2006" which begins, frighteningly enough, next Sunday. We are going to see the Yeah Yeah Yeahs at the Palladium on Sunday, October 1 to kick off our fifth year of marriage. The week itself hasn't been planned out fully just yet, but Thursday night we are planning on heading down to Anaheim, getting a hotel room, and waking up Friday morning (our ACTUAL anniversary) and going to the happiest place on Earth! That's right, The Magic Kingdom beckons us forth to celebrate the date of our nuptials!

Scion, Baby!

Here is our new Scion!

That's right. After scouring the dealerships of Southern California, a Scion Xa Manual Transmission in Flint Mica (dark sparkly gray) was found for us this afternoon after we had been told it was going to take 10-14 days. So shocking, but we now have a new car!

John gets it on weekdays, and I get it on nights and weekends.

We'll post pictures soon, it was way too dark when we got home...

How is it September already!

My goodness. This year is flying by.

Here it is, September 1. My new job has effectively begun, although my replacement doesn't start until Wednesday... So that is exciting.

And a nice long holiday weekend ahead of us. Just over an hour to freedom....
