Alright, I'm Getting Down Off the Ledge...

I don't know what was wrong with me yesterday. I guess I just kind of melted down. It happens every once in a while.

So we are one stop at the FedEx station after work to having Radiohead tickets for tomorrow night's concert. This particular concert has been a giant pain in the ass, as it is one of the fastest selling-out shows at the Greek Theater of all time. Both John and I were poised at our computers preceisely at 10am when the tickets went on sale, and by 10:05 when we finally got through, all of the tickets were gone.

And most of those tickets appear to have been sold to numerous ticket brokers all over the country, who then turned to ebay to sell these tickets at horribly inflated prices. (For example, the face value of the tickets we are ending up with is $44 per ticket. I paid $250 for the pair.) But it's Radiohead, so people are willing to pay it (we did!)

And as John said, it's an early birthday present.

Thanks for reading. I appreciate it.

Does ANYONE Still Read This???

I try to make a habit of posting more often than some of the less frequently updated blogs but the motivation just isn't there when it doesn't appear that anyone reads it.

As far as I know, my readers include:

My dad.
My mother-in-law.
My husband.
Chun.

It's not as though I have given you all a reason to stop coming back to my blog week after week. I haven't taken a month-long hiatus in a great long while. I have been updating this site for nearly three years!

I just wish you all would come and visit - and let me know!

I LOVE COMMENTS!

Frankly, they keep me caring about posting stuff on here, otherwise its just self-indulgent drivel....

Happy Friday Indeed!

So I've been under the weather for the last couple of days, and I can now only blame the fact that I no longer work in retail. No longer exposed to all the germs of the common public, forced to build up immunity to everything that walked in off the street.

So that's the one and only downfall of not working retail (at least that I have uncovered in the 4+ months i have worked here..... plus the lack of discount...)

But the universe made it up to me today. Today, my boss had a meeting scheduled with Joaquin Phoenix. I was barely nervous about it until he walked in the door, then I got all tongue-tied... His mom was with him and she introduced herself - as I had spoken with her on the phone many times... Then I looked at Joaquin, and didn't know what to say. I opened my mouth, not knowing what would come out, and he looked at me and said in a quiet voice, "Calm down. Don't be nervous." and then he reached over for what I thought was going to be a handshake, when he touched my ear and admired my earring.

Yes, that's right, HE TOUCHED MY FREAKING EAR!

So I'll be sniffly for a few days, riding high off of my most recent celebrity encounter.

Then tonight we are going to see Neko Case at a little theater in Hollywood, and tomorrow we're seeing Fiona Apple at the Greek.

I think a little cold is a fair trade-off....

Welcome to the Clan!

Little Miss Josephine, originally uploaded by julieverive.

On Friday June 2nd, at approximately 9:00am, John's cousin Jennifer and her husband Gary welcomed baby Josephine into their family!

I can't even imagine how happy they must be at this adorable little bundle of joy!
