Five Years! On Saturday John and I celebrated our Fifth Wedding Anniversary!
To commemorate the occasion, we knew we wanted to do something special, and at the same time, after the weeks of traveling we knew we wanted to stay local and low key. After much deliberation, we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and wander around Santa Monica for the day. We walked up and down 3rd street where we bought some fun stuff, including the first Christmas present of the year and a new iPod nano for me!
We then walked down to the Pier and the beach and took some pictures!
Following the jaunt across Santa Monica, we went home and got all dolled up for a fantastic dinner at Dominicks, a hip little Italian place that we had never been to before! It was a great anniversary day!
The following day we had made a reservation to check out the newly reopened and remodeled Griffith Observatory. While we waited, we stopped in at the LA Zoo (we had to park there for the shuttle, and being members we just stopped in for a half hour) and saw the most active koalas ever!
The observatory was very cool, with many scenic views of the LA area and took even more pictures! It is definitely a place to go back and check out at night, when you can actually look through the telescopes!
After that, we decided to catch the new Wes Anderson movie "Darjeeling Limited" and I must say it was AWESOME! I always love his work, and I already want to see it again!
All in all a great way to celebrate five wonderful years with John! There are tons more pictures in my
flickr!
