Bourbon Tasting (1/365)

Bourbon Tasting (1/365), originally uploaded by julieverive.

I've decided to start the Project 365 since I have recently purchased the Canon G10... Hopefully I can make it through!

For New Years we went down to Orange County to Andrew's parents house where everyone had gathered for a geeky good time! There was a bourbon tasting that included 12 different varieties. It was so great to see everyone and to ring in 2009!

Happy New Year!

Winter Wonderland!

Skate!, originally uploaded by julieverive.

This weekend we finally made it out to Pershing Square for Ice Skating! Yup, an outdoor rink in the heart of downtown Los Angeles!

It was a beautiful day for skating, and I was very happy that, even though it has been more than 10 years since I have been on ice skates, it is surprisingly like riding a bike! (Although I didn't remaster stopping....)

All in all, it was a great time and it really made me feel like the holidays!

Raconteurs 9/23/2008

Raconteurs 9/23/2008, originally uploaded by julieverive.

Second night was even better!

Jack White was truly face-melting with his extended solos, and sitting in Section A gave us an awesome view of the stage!

This concludes the Verive Summer Concert Series!

First night of the Raconteurs in Los Angeles. Fantastic seats on the terrace and a great set list! Jack Lawrence is my new favorite bass player, and Jack White is a true Guiter Hero.

Going again tonight, sitting in Section A!

Radiohead at the Bowl

Awesome Show, originally uploaded by julieverive.

Last night we walked up to the Hollywood Bowl (1.7 miles!) for the Radiohead show!

The staging was amazing, the music was incredible, and there are few things I enjoy more about a Radiohead show than watching Thom Yorke flail around on stage. They covered a good amount of material I recognized (Kharma Police!) and a few that I didn't.

This also marks the third time in five years that I have given John tickets to Radiohead for his birthday, and they certainly do not disappoint!
