Revenge of the Sith

I really liked it! It had it's fair share of faults, but it served well to complete the series of Star Wars films. If you haven't seen the movie yet, you may want to avoid reading this post. I'm not sure what I'm going to give away.

From the opening scene to the very end of the film, there is constant tension and amazing visuals. Hayden Christensen as Anakin/Vader improved leaps and bounds over his performance in Attack of the Clones and Ewan MacGregor was perfect as ObiWan. It was clear that everyone stepped up the performances for this one.

Admittedly the dialogue was weak, especially during the Anakin/Padme scenes. We all learned long ago that George Lucas cannot write dialogue, and if you went into this movie expecting any different, then I am sorry for you, but maybe you should have stayed home.

Yoda was incredible. The Wookiees were cool but not on screen long enough. The feeling of utter dismay that you feel when you leave the theater is a unique feeling you don't get often from going to the movies.

Sorry if I am rambling, I haven't had enough coffee yet today. My only real complaint about the movie is that too much happened. They were forced to jam too much into one film, when not much happens in the first two installments, and this one is non-stop. The shift to Darth Vader didn't seem like it took long enough, but then it didn't seem like he was Vader long enough. I think it would have helped to break this up into 2 films, but obviously they couldn't do that.

But it met or exceeded all of my expectations. It is an important part of our culture and history, and if it can't be appreciated for that alone, then let me know how the Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants is.
